Be a tourguide and present your library in English

Zielgruppe:
Librarians with an interest in presenting their library and its services in English. Intermediate to good command of English is expected. Active participation is required.

Inhalt:
In this course, participants will learn or refresh library-specific vocabulary and practice speaking English in front of a group in order to present their library to international customers. We will begin with a review of useful terms and phrases as well as a short module on intercultural communication. Time will be spent answering questions and imagining scenarios based on different library environments. Each participant will have adequate time to practice speaking aloud and leading tours of a library. If desired, participants will have a chance to write relevant English-language brochures and marketing materials.
